Emerging designers: women’s accessories from Moxsie

Fashonistas know that the right accessory can transform an outfit from basic to beautiful. This funky assortment is reserved for eccentric beauties who love getting decked out in originally crafted pieces. Beyond the Rack and Moxsie have joined forces again to showcase emerging designers Deux Lux, Nooka, Doubledown, and Frolick.

LA-based Deux Lux stormed onto European and American markets with a careful eye towards delivering high-fashion inspired bags to purse addicts. Online magazines and blogs buzzed about their designs. The brand’s consistently produced season favorites became almost impossible to track down, as fashion gals snapped up their timely designs and bought one for their girlfriends too. Perfect to accessorize a girl whether she’s keeping busy at work, strutting about town, or causing a stir at night.

Nooka is the brainchild of artist and designer, Matthew Waldman. He conceived the idea for Nooka after staring at a large wall clock in a London hotel and wondering why there are so few options for time display. He then sketched his ideas for potential designs on a napkin and brought them back to New York. Beyond international style, the search for a universal language is the common theme that all the products are conceptually based.

DoubleDown emerged as an accidental undertaking that found a loyal following, with test samples getting a rave reaction in the underground streetwear scene, and the overriding theme of New York City beginning to dominate the brand’s output. DoubleDown continues to produce series, often based around a particular theme or look, and each possessing a unique logo. The “eightyfourseries” for example, was inspired by the vintage styles of the 1970s and 1980s and mark the turning point where hip-hop became a global phenomenon.

Adrienne Lee Wiley combined her creative talent with a love of fashion and started her own jewelry line–Frolick Jewelry. Adrienne has a distinctive design style that is expressed by mixing unexpected colors and shapes. As an avid traveler she is inspired by unique charms, unusual pendants and other treasures she finds during her excursions around the world. “Much of my inspiration comes from butterflies… Just like a butterfly, each piece of Frolick jewelry is a unique little treasure.”
