BTR Position: Head Stylist

As a stylist, Athena knows a thing or two about pulling together fabulous outfits for BTR photo shoots. She creates the looks from head to toe, showing us all how to best mix and match our BTR purchases. Find out what spring trends this bona fide fashion maven loves, and which brands rock her world.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I tend to mix a little bit of comfort with edge. I am a huge fan of the garçonne look. But I don’t take it to the extreme. Just small hints of it here and there with my accessories or my hair. I tend to sometimes pull a 180 and dress in a classical, romantic way: bubble skirts, peasant tops, and empire-waist dresses.

Q: What/who inspires your personal style?

A: I was never inspired by a person, more by looks. I generally wear things that suit my body the best. If a piece of clothing fits me well, I get inspired by it and build an outfit around it.

Q: What do you love buying at Beyond the Rack and are you currently wearing anything from the site?

A: I love buying everything! The shoe events are my weakness. Love them! I bought so many pairs over the last year. I just can’t get enough!

Q: What are your favorite trends you see now?

A: I love this refreshing wave of nudes and light earth tones that’s coming out for spring. I think it really allows a woman to show her natural, feminine side.

Q: What, in your opinion, is the worst fashion faux-pas?

A: Never wear leggings with a short or cropped top! Fashion NO-NO!

Q: What are your top 3 fashion labels?

A: Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Tory Burch. Oh, and BCBG!
