Montreal, Canada. European flair. Exciting summer festivals. Fashion, fashion, fashion.
The French-Canadian city is positioned as a fashion capital in the eyes of many and this was solidified with the great success of the 11th annual Montreal Fashion and Design Festival. Media from across the globe came to take part, including Jeanne Beker from Fashion Television.
Jean Paul Gaultier’s opener will be remembered for years to come. The show featured fashion from the designer’s 2011-2012 fall/winter line. One of the most influential artists of his generation showcased a celebration of beauty that transcends age and trends. Très Fabuleux.
Fashion-lovers got to feed their need for spectacles, music, and extreme glamour.
Canada’s premier department store, The Bay, displayed its Fall 2011 collection. The lipstick was red and the colors were deep. The mood was lightened with intermittent bursts of pink, breezy materials, and graphic prints.
If this summer was all about bright neon fun, fall appears to be full-on romance.
While it was great to sport casual-cool threads during those scorching hot days, this beautiful collection was a reminder why nothing quite beats fall fashion: cozy sweaters and sophisticated trench coats, par example.
Be sure to check BTR every day to build the fall wardrobe of your dreams.
