In the coming months a lineup of celebrity experts will help you shop BTR home by choosing their favorite items. To kick things off, Dina Manzo, of HGTV’s Dina’s Party, has selected her favorites from our first seven days of events. We also sat down with her to dish about her show, her life, and why she’s wild about about all things design.

“I’m thrilled to be part of BTR home’s launch. It’s great to see sites like Beyond the Rack move into the homegoods market with popular brands like KitchenAid, Denby, and Cuisinart at such incredible prices. I reviewed the selection beforehand and picked my favorite items from the week ahead. I especially love the fondue set, crystal glasses, and cappuccino set—they’re all perfect for entertaining. I also adore the array of bedding and linens—especially the down comforters. My hectic lifestyle requires a lot of travelling, so it’s important to own some stylish luggage. I’m loving animal prints this season, so the leopard luggage was an easy choice. Happy shopping everyone—make sure to look out for my choices all week long!”

Q: You have a fabulous new show on HGTV called Dina’s Party. What can your fans expect to see?

A: Lots of over-the-top design mixed with helpful money-saving tips along the way. Of course there’s also lots of laughs and a behind-the-scenes look at “my reality”.

Q: How did you become involved in home decorating and party planning?

A: I’ve always been interested in design. While going crazy on bed rest with my daughter I started to take design courses and once my daughter was born I jumped right into interior design. About 6 years ago I started to make the change-over to event planning after noticingI was able to be more creative with designing a party for my clients rather than designing their homes. Event planning is not as glamorous as it appears. Get ready to roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty, and put in lots of long hours.

Q: What are some of your favorite décor pieces you have in your home?

A: My artwork. Art is so personal, and it must speak to me in some way.

Q: How would you describe your decorating style?

A: I find things I love and then find the perfect spot for them, so I would say meaningful.

Q: What are some home décor trends for fall/winter 2012?

A: Other than neutrals, I’m loving the color purple this season. Load up on lots of interesting textures, but keep the patterns simple and clean.

Be sure to look for Dina’s very own line of jewellery and to catch Dina’s Party on HGTV, where you can get an insider’s look at how she creates the most lavish events. Get inspired by a true decorating connoisseur.
