Q: What tips can you give guys out there who have no clue what to get their fashion-loving girlfriends for the holidays?

A: My tips for the gentlemen out there with fashion-loving girlfriends is think purses (Bottega Venetta, YSL) and shoes (Louboutins are a girl’s best friend when you can’t give diamonds) and Essie nail polish in any color makes a great stocking stuffer.

Q: Let’s talk gifts for him. What’s a great gift idea?

A: I love a man that smells good. I got the man in my life Wall Street cologne by Bond #9.

Q: As a celebrity stylist, can you tell us what’s a hot trend in holiday shopping this year?

A: The hot trend this holiday season is capes, sequins, dressy jumpsuits, and bold colors.

Q: What fashion item is at the top of the celeb gift-wish list?

A: Celebrities pretty much have everything but I polled a couple of my clients and this is what I gathered: Faux-fur vests, scented body scrubs, costume jewelry, fun houseware gifts, and a paparazzi-free vacation. Lol.

Q: Fashion Police in Us Weekly provides sharp, witty fashion critique. As one of the top cops for the column, can you give us an example of a gift-giving faux-pas?

A: I wouldn’t recommend gifting a fruit cake or scented candles unless you know what scents a person likes. Also, re-gifting is fashionably tacky. If you didn’t like the gift, it’s more than likely neither will the person you’re trying to re-gift.

Q: What’s a creative way to give your spouse a gift without breaking the bank?

A: I love DIY projects so I would suggest love coupons in a booklet of 5-10 coupons. You can write a sexy message that your spouse can cash in at any time. For women, make coupons your spouse can appreciate such as “You can watch the game in peace today” or “I will not nag you today”. Men can try “I will watch a girly movie with you” or “Yes, we can talk about it.” It’s inexpensive and from the heart. But if you’re reading this blog that means you’re at Beyond the Rack so browse around. I’m sure they have something in your price range :)
