Guido & Mary – the obvious choce for fashion girls who know their denim

Montreal brand Guido & Mary are already renowned in the world of premium denim, and it seems this season, they’re really hitting their stride.

Whether you’re in the market for a tried-and-true style or a piece that taps into a trend you just read about in a fashion mag, Guido & Mary have always got you covered. Their collections feature both classic silhouttes and trend-right styles, in a rainbow of colors and washes.

High fashion runways displayed a variety of interesting ideas for Spring/Summer 2012, and it seems that Guido & Mary were on the same wavelength as the designers.

And with today’s Guido & Mary event, we’re helping you tap into the trends and make them your own.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Pastel hues are huge for the upcoming season. If you’re daunted by head-to-toe pastels (as seen at Givenchy), contrast jeans in a soft hue with a black top. This makes the trend instantly edgy yet wearable.

A high-waisted trouser, like those by Balenciaga, are on the more refined side of denim.  As long as you pair them with a tucked-in top, you’re sure to look shapely and sophisticated.

We’re loving youthful, feminine ruffle details – and so is Roberto Cavalli for Just Cavalli. Embrace the trend with this romper by Guido & Mary. With just a switch of accessories, this piece can easily transition from day to night.

We’re such huge fans of Jenni Kayne’s effortlessly elegant look, we’ll probably copy it quite closely for shopping or brunch on the weekend. For dinner and drinks, we’ll team similar wide-leg jeans with a lacy camisole and heels.
