On May 20th, the A-list descended on the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas to celebrate the past year’s biggest chart-toppers at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards. And while performances by Justin Bieber and Katy Perry rocked the house, the real stars on the white carpet were the clothes.
At any music industry awards show, the dress code is more relaxed than say, the Oscars. This leaves celebs free to take risks. From neutrals (like Jordin Sparks in a perfectly-fitting DVF number) to vibrant hues (Usher’s look-at-me blue suit), from short (hello Miley Cyrus’s legs in a Jean Paul Gaultier jacket) to long (Carrie Underwood, resplendent in an ethereal Oscar de la Renta confection), we saw it all at this year’s Billboards – and we’re glad that we did.
