Q: You’ve styled starlets like Carrie Underwood and Paris Hilton – what’s one major fashion tip you would give our members who want to capture the A-list look?
A: Working at Henri Bendel for so long I had the honor of assisting some amazing people. I found that everyone’s A-List look depends on their individual personality. That’s the fun of it! The best part about working with celebs is realizing not every look you dream of has to cost a million dollars! My favorite fast tip is always to mix and match depending on your mood. Dress to express! Every celebrity you meet has amazing days where they just glow on red carpets and at fun events, and every celebrity also has “cozy sweat pants” days. Dress how you feel and have fun with it!
Q: Our members love to accessorize on a budget – what are some wallet-friendly accessories you’d recommend to dress up an outfit?
A: I absolutely love to accessorize! I love combining super trendy, fun items with costume and inexpensive pieces. One of my favorites recently are the CC Skye bracelets. The prices range, the colors are so fun, and they are absolutely a must-have for this summer!
I also love Gorjana Wrap bracelets – I just bought two in amazing neon colors and I haven’t taken them off! Have fun with accessorizing, add bold colors and take risks. Pile on the cuffs and even add a pair of gloves for a fun night on the town!
Q: As one of the most sought-after stylists in Hollywood, can you tell us what’s going to be a huge trend for fall?
A: If it were up to me neons and bright colors would remain a hot trend for every season! Sadly I am not in charge of that I am noticing that white is no longer going to be just a summer color, which I love! I am seeing a ton of winter white paired with black blazers and fun pants. Warm and fuzzy sweaters are going to be one of my all time favorites this fall and every designer is super excited for it! Crimson is going to be the color of the season. Tweeds and plaids are going nowhere – everything from blazers to pants and skirts! It’s going to be a beautiful fall, I just know it. Just don’t forget to buy your PVC-coated raincoat!
Q: What pieces would you recommend a client spend most on?
A: I always tell my clients to spend more on the items you will get the most wear out of. That is not always an amazing pair of shoes or a bag. Accessories are something I always splurge on because I can wear them over and over with a million different outfits. Jeans and pants are another splurge item for me and my clients. You always want to have the most comfortable and amazing jeans to fall back on for those rough mornings, and there is no reason to stop wearing denim!
Q:What are some accessories that could transition your outfit from daytime to night time?
A: This is always my favorite. I love choosing core items that can transition an outfit in just 2 minutes! Changing out of my work shoes and into a fabulous pair of heels makes me feel ready for a fun night out. Slapping on a fun pair of gloves is always a sexy add-on. Changing your coat from denim during the day, to trench in the evening. Adding a scarf with bold colors glams you up in just one minute! Sliding on some more bangles and colored rings always takes you to another level in a minute.
