It’s that time of year again – New York Fashion Week!

And Beyond the Rack was in the middle of the action at the GBK Lounge, gifting Hollywood celebrities and fashionistas at the Empire Hotel.

We spent some time chatting with the Project Runway crew, Katrina Bowden from 30 Rock, MTV star Angela Simmons, Mark Cuban & Robert Herjavec from Shark Tank, and many more!

Here’s the inside scoop on some of the hottest trends seen hitting the runways:

LEATHER– There’s no denying the presence of leather for Fall/Winter 2012. And we’re not just talking the standard leather motorcycle jacket. Leather was everywhere – from tight leather pants a la Kim Kardashian to sweet leather skirts.

LACE– Lace has been popping up everywhere – whether as a full lace dress, as a trim, or as an accessories accent. Showcase the trend any which way you want, and add a romantic flair to your ensembles. BCBG Max Azria and Lanvin were big fans of the feminine fabric this season.

LONG-SLEEVE DRESSES– The perfect way to stay warm while still feeling super pretty, these styles are the ultimate fall staple. This season, look for bold patterns and interesting textures for a show-stopping look.

MODERN MILITARY- This fall, it’s all about military, but with a fresh, modern twist. As seen in the Victoria Beckham and Jason Wu shows, the styles are completely wearable and utterly chic.

OVERSIZED HANDBAGS- Designers clued in that modern day women needed roomy handbags to pack their iPads, cosmetics, alongside all of their other secret power tools. And from Louis Vuitton to Chloe, the runways were replete with larger-than-usual totes and weekender bags.

WINTER WHITE- Whether it was mixed with black or all on its own, crisp winter white added some much-needed luminosity to the runways. Frosty white pants, jackets, and knits were seen in the Derek Lam and J. Mendel shows. This season, shake off your fear of white and make an entrance!
