Check out our behind-the-scenes video of the shoot:
A special thanks to Jeremy L. Bobrow for all the wonderful photography.
After receiving thousands of applications from women across North America for our Redbook Real Women Model Search Contest, we selected 35-year old mom Torri from Coquitlam, British Columbia as our winner. We were touched by her entry; like so many women, Torri struggled with her sense of style after becoming a stay-at-home mom. In her own words, “I believe I represent millions of women who don’t want to lose themselves just because they’ve had a big change in their life. This would be an amazing opportunity to get a super fun part of me back!”
Her honesty, magnetic personality, and inner beauty won us over.
As our winner, here’s what Torri received:
An all-expenses paid weekend for two in Montreal
A makeover and professional photoshoot
Her photo featured on BTR’s homepage for one month
The chance to model an exclusive BTR event
Designer looks from the photoshoot
A feature in Redbook’s December issue
Torri and her best girlfriend, Nolene, stayed at the Hotel Nelligan located in historic Old Montreal and had the chance to shop and dine at some of Montreal’s hottest shops and restaurants.
After her fun-filled weekend, Torri arrived at our headquarters bright and early to begin her day as a model!
Torri enjoyed the star treatment as she kicked off her day in our studio by sipping mimosas and nibbling on strawberries. She was then transformed by Montreal’s elite hairstylist Rafael Estrella Dunn and top makeup artist Amy Klein.
Styled by Redbook’s Fashion Director Audrey Slater, Torri modeled the hottest looks for fall to be featured in Redbook Magazine, as well as some fabulous outfits from the Strada event for BTR – on sale now.
We then took Torri’s photo for the homepage! She sported a fabulous Mulberry bag, Modesta shoes, DL 1961 jeans, an RD Style top, and a La Classe Couture blazer.
And the best part? This lucky lady got to keep the Mary Jane Louboutins, an RD Style suede motorcycle jacket, Domino skinny jeans, a La Classe Couture blazer, and much more!
It was such a joy for everyone at BTR to work with Torri – she was inspiring, charismatic and up for anything. Her positive attitude, sense of humor (as well as designer BTR goodies) are what made the shoot such a success.
Congratulations Tori – we hope you had as much fun as we did.
