BTR V-Day Hollywood Crushes

BTR Celebrity Crushes

We’ve all done it. You know – spend an hour or so daydreaming about that silver screen cutie that simply makes our heart skip a beat. After all, what’s life without a little fantasizing every once in a while?

Today, we’re asking our employees to reveal their Hollywood crushes? Check out our top 10 list below.

The Boys Club

1)      Ryan Gosling: Charmingly Canadian and ab-solutely swoon-worthy, this home-grown heartthrob plays the good boy as well as the bad-ass. Who doesn’t love a good study in contrast?

2)      Joseph Gordon Levitt: Often described as Mr. Perfect, we’re more than ready to set up house with Mr. Levitt.  But where will we live? How about right here on the 3rd Rock from the Sun 😉

3)      Ian Somerhalder: Nicknamed Smolder Holder by his fans, we can hardly get enough of this bad boy. And those eyes….

4)      Sean Penn: This big screen rebel is known for stealing hearts. It’s no wonder he’s got ours.

5)      Henry Cavill: It’s said that the Man of Steel has a soft side. Well, we’re good listeners. He can open up to us.

The Ladies’ Club

1)      Scarlett Johansson: With a name like Scarlett and looks to match, this Hollywood babe is so red-hot.

2)      Blake Lively: Mrs. Ryan Reynolds got an undisputed aye from girls and boys alike. Yep, we definitely love this radiant blond.

3)      Sofia Vergara: Even her name is sexy. Add a sultry accent and we had to open a few windows and turn down the heat.

4)      Halle Barry: Her beauty seems to transcend time. Old and young alike still find her absolutely stunning and can hardly get enough of this Bond Girl.

5)      Eva Mendes: We have a love/hate relationship with Eva. Love her gorgeous curves and kiss-me lips. Hate her because she has our ultimate valentine date; Ryan Gosling.

We’re dying to know. Who’s your Hollywood crush? We can keep a secret.

The Best and Worst Dressed of the 2014 Grammy Awards

Last night had music’s biggest stars hitting the red carpet in high style. As always, some of these celebs looked sharp, while others fell flat.

Here are our Best and Worst Dressed of the 2014 Grammy Awards:

Best Dressed:

Taylor Swift: Ms. Swift looked completely statuesque and stunning in a dazzling Gucci gown. Although she joked that the dress was as heavy as chainmail, it was definitely worth it.

Chrissy Teigen: What a knockout! She outshone many of the others on the red carpet literally and figuratively in a Johanna Johnson gown. The metallic hue was eye-catching, and the dress hugged all of her curves in just the right way.

Pink: This Johanna Johanssen gown is striking. The satin design gives it some flair and makes it anything but boring.

Anna Kendrick: The cut-out bodice of this dress elevates it to stylish heights. The Azzaro dress may be in a muted color, but that didn’t stop Anna Kendrick from looking flawless.

Miranda Lambert: The country vixen matched the red carpet in a Pamella Roland gown. Her coiffed hair and the understated elegance of the dress is every inch Hollywood glamour.

Worst Dressed:

Ariana Grande: She might have worn this floral Dolce & Gabbana dress to her quinceanera. We know floral is in for the coming spring, but this print looked outdated.

Katy Perry: Alright, yes you’re at the Grammys, but we don’t think there was a themed dress code. The musical notes on this gauzy and poofy Valentino gown just end up making the ensemble look tacky.

Beyonce: The Michael Costello gown left very little to the imagination as Queen B strut down the red carpet. Compared to the glitz and old school Hollywood glam of other gowns, she looked a little too revealing.

Paula Patton: This dress couldn’t even pick which animal it was trying to emulate. The print is zebra, but the heads at the bust are lions. Unfortunately for Paula Patton, it was easy for us to pick which of our lists she would be on.

Sara Bareilles: She looked like someone fifteen years her junior trying to awkwardly fit in on the red carpet. The feather additions looked haphazardly applied onto a dress the color of “meh”.

Do you agree? Who was on your best/worst dressed list? Let us know by leaving us a “note”!

How to Wear: The Sheath Dress

the sheath dress

Timeless and elegant, the sheath dress is a must-have staple in any woman’s wardrobe. Change up your accessories and it can be as versatile as any of your separates, not to mention worn for multiple seasons and occasions.

Here are a few tips for creating multiple looks:

1) Accessorize. Heading to the office? Keep it simple with a feminine watch, or even a silk scarf. When happy hour rolls around, switch out the scarf for some statement jewelry, and add a trendy clutch.

2) Pick the right print. If bold accessories aren’t your style, let your dress be the one in the limelight. A bright geometric print can be a fun addition to your wardrobe. If you choose a print with black in it, you can easily wear it all year ‘round!

3) Layer over or under. Depending upon the season or occasion, you might want to add an item over or under your dress. For colder weather, tights or a turtleneck would look great. For a chic corporate look, stick to the classics. Wear a blouse underneath or a cropped blazer to achieve that ideal 9-5 style. And don’t be afraid to change up the silhouette with a belt!

4) The finishing touch. Change your shoes, change your outfit. Strappy heels can transform your dress into a cocktail frock, whereas flats or sandals make the transition into stylish day wear.

Trends may come and go, but one thing is for sure, the sheath dress is here to stay. The possibilities are endless! Shop for one today and secure your spot as a fierce fashionista.

Pick Your Perfect Pair of Frames

Pick Your Perfect Frame_blog

Shopping for a new pair of sunglasses but are at a complete loss as to which frames will best suit the shape of your face? Don’t fret! Today, we’re helping you find your perfect fit. Find your face shape below and read what our stylists have to say about picking your perfect pair.

Shop the Givenchy and Jimmy Choo event for a stunning selection of designer sunglasses.

1-      Oval: If you have an oval face, then you have the perfect face for glasses. You can wear just about any frame. However, avoid small round spectacles and glasses that are too large. Try Jimmy Choo’s Severine Sunglasses in Brown Violet or Givenchy’s Anders Sunglasses in Burgundy for a little extra color.

2-      Round: When looking for sunglasses, individuals with round faces should think about adding angles. Wider and up-sweep frames are a good fit. Check out the Sasha Sunglasses in Black by Jimmy Choo.

3-      Square: Your face is characterized by sharp corners and lines – strong jawline, wider forehead. Try slightly round frames that are not too small or slimmer frames. They’ll soften your features. Try Jimmy Choo’s Monitque Sunglasses in Dark Havana.

4-      Heart: High, angled cheekbones? We’ll take those please! Balance your face with oval or square frames. Try Jimmy Choo’s Malinda Sunglasses in Purple Panther.

The Best Dressed Men of the SAG Awards

The red carpet is usually dominated by gorgeous celebrities draped in elaborate gowns, leaving the style of Hollywood’s leading men out of the limelight. However, the Screen Actors Guild Awards this past weekend showed us that the men can shine just as bright as the women. A black tie event definitely does not have to mean a plain and boring tux, and in some cases, doesn’t have to mean a black tie at all!

Here is our list of the best dressed men of the SAG Awards:

Aaron Paul– Is it possible for a well-dressed man to look both suave and adorable? Aaron Paul definitely pulls off this feat in his Burberry tux. The peaked lapel gives the jacket old world charm, while the studded loafers are a playful, yet stylish addition.

Jared Leto– He looked every inch the rock star in a Dior Homme tux that deviated just enough from the norm in order to stand out and look flawless. The white on white bowtie and shirt gives the whole outfit a fashionable flair.

Bradley Cooper– This Gucci tux is what black tie should look like. It is perfectly tailored to his frame, from the shoulders down to the tapered pant cuffs. The dual tone lapel helps transport the tuxedo into chic modernity.

Matthew McConaughey– Wow. This Dolce & Gabbana tux is dripping with sophistication. The jacket stands out from the sea of plain black, and only serves to elevate the ensemble’s stylishness. He was certainly a star of the red carpet that night!

Cuba Gooding Jr.– It’s always refreshing to see someone rocking a plaid dinner suit. Usually, plaid is too garish and loud, but this suit boasts an understated design that is all elegance. The black lapel brings the outfit together and matches the bowtie.

Stylist Corner: From Desk to Dinner in a Snap

Desk to Dinner Outfit

It’s the end of yet another work day, and you’ve got dinner plans with your best gal pals at the hottest new restaurant in town. You immediately see a problem: your pencil skirt, face-lift bun and practical pumps are anything but dinner appropriate. Our head stylist has put together an ensemble that is guaranteed to get you from desk to dinner in top style.

1-A Chic Sweater – The sweater should be warm, elegant and versatile. We’ve chosen white because we’re just not ready to give up the “white for winter” trend.

2-The Leather Skirt – Another big trend this season is the leather skirt – an absolute must in every fashionista’s wardrobe. It adds just enough edge to your outfit without crossing any strict style boundaries.

3-The Material Bib with Rhinestone Accents – This necklace takes the simple sweater to another level by adding just the right pop. This style of necklace is a big hit this season.

4-The Handbag – Your handbag should be practical (to carry your workday essentials) but fabulous enough for dinner. We love the added pop of color of this handbag.

5-Printed Booties – Eye-catching is the phrase that comes to mind when we look at these booties. The gorgeous floral print balances out the basic tones of the outfit. Love!

6-Knuckle-duster Ring – A great way to add more edge to the look, the knuckle-duster ring is another trend on our radar. Nothing like statement jewelry to state your style status!

Now that you’ve got the pieces all you need is a shake of the hair, a little lipstick, a fresh coat of mascara and you’re ready to go!
