One of the keys to a memorable evening is the outfit, which can transform a potentially drab soiree into a dazzling affair. Amplify your look with a bright, sophisticated wrap dress, keep it chic and simple in classic black, or opt for a playful, feminine flair with pretty patterns.

Lace is both lovely, delicate and romantic and fringe adds an element of fun; both very fitting for a memorable occasion, while a chic shift dress creates an air of grace and elegance.

Perfect footwear is essential and one can never go wrong with a classic pair of stunning suede, or patent designer pumps. Sky high platform sandals also provide an added touch of drama and sex appeal.

No outfit is complete without some winning accessories of course. In this case, a classic leather Prada or Celine handbag can help tie the perfect look together.

New York Fashion Week 2017

With a few more cold weeks until spring, New York Fashion Week ushers in a welcomed break from the brisk weather, at least on the visual front. As always, we’re quite excited for all the shows that are sure to set the runways ablaze and ignite hot new trends for the upcoming 2017 seasons.

This year, the world of fashion expands its stage onto a bigger platform as issues of politics come into the mix for many designers who are choosing to infuse socially-conscious messages into their collections. From female empowerment to overcoming views of a dark political climate and stances of solidarity, designers like Yuna Yang and Dao Yi Chow, as well as the CFDA iniative “Fashion Stands with Planned Parenthood” are sure to get audiences talking about more than just fashion.

Speaking of talking, the equally loved and loathed Kanye West is scheduled to present his Yeezy 5 collection which is sure to draw in substantive amounts of media attention and perhaps even a bit of controversy. Can Yeezus finally win over the fashion world? One of the moments I’m looking forward to the most.

As for what to expect from the lineup of other designers, Monique Lhuillier has stated her collection will be a celebration of American couture, Chi Zhang combines science, technology and the human imagination for her inspiration, Dennis Basso speaks of a carefree elegance, and La Perla aims to portray women in all their strong, confident glory.

Subdued and refined looks dominated the Versace show, with an emphasis on tailored jackets and minimalism in suits, shirts and pants.
